Guided Reading Resource Uploaded to TpT!

So, what have I been working on this evening instead of grading spelling tests? (Ahhh... Gotta love grading!) My new Guided Reading SOS resource!

It has 24 pages including recording forms for lesson planning, group rotations, and student observations; Beanie Baby reading strategy posters (and mini-posters if you have little space); a take-home Beanie Baby strategy poster to reinforce strategy use at home; prompting guides for comprehension and accuracy/fluency; and a running record form. All you need to do is add some leveled books and - VOILA! - an easy-peasy guided reading structure.

Making Mental Images

We just got back from a two week spring break. Phew! Getting back into the swing of things after a little R&R was a little hectic (probably more so for me than the students!). We started our poetry unit in Writing Workshop on Monday, so I decided to save our Mental Images unit in Reading Workshop to coincide with it. First up? We read "Green Giant" by Jack Prelutsky (a la One Extra Degree) and the kiddos drew their mental images. How cute are these?!
